Band Uniform Care Instructions

DO NOT DRYCLEAN. DO NOT IRON. DO NOT BLEACH

Wash uniform after every time worn using these instructions:

1. Detach SASH from JACKET. Fasten one side of gauntlets together w/ velcro. Fasten sash to other side gauntlet velcro. Put sash & gauntlets into delicates bag when washing to avoid snagging uni with velcro.

2. Machine wash jacket and pants, together with bag containing gauntlets and sash, on cold wash/cold rinse cycle with non- chlorine liquid detergent. DO NOT USE BLEACH PRODUCTS!

3. If a stain does occur pre-treat with non-chlorine stain remover. Spray n Wash works well.

4. Do not use liquid fabric softener.

5. Hang uniforms to dry OR use cool setting in dryer.  Hang immediately.

6. DO NOT IRON ANY PART OF THE UNIFORM!

7. Attach sash to jacket after dryer or when hung to dry.

8. Store uniform in unzipped uniform bag to provide ventilation.

9. Store gauntlets flat in zipper pocket of uniform bag.

10. Store hat wrap doubled at “V” in pocket of uniform bag.

11. DO NOT PUT DAMP PIECES IN GARMET BAG!!

If you have uniform laundered at a cleaners, remind them to keep the sleeves and pants snapped.

HATS:

1. Checkout/Return visor for each use

2. DO NOT WASH tuba berets.

SHOES:

1. Clean shoes with soap and water.

2. Black shoe polish can be used to cover scuff marks.

CUSTOM TOP:

Hand Wash, Cold Water, Lay Flat to Dry

How to wear your uniform

Student must wear:

Shirt and Shorts purchased from boosters (dry fit shirt, gray athletic short)

Black crew length or longer socks (not ankle socks, no other color)

Long hair must be worn up inside visor when marching.

No colored nail polish for marching competitions.

RENTAL COST:

If a student forgets a part of their uniform and needs to borrow one from the uniform room, they will be charged. Socks are theirs to keep, other items must be cleaned and returned.

REPLACEMENT COST

If a student loses or damages part of the uniform, replacement costs are as follows:
