Band Uniform Care Instructions

DO NOT DRYCLEAN. DO NOT IRON. DO NOT BLEACH

Wash uniform after every performance using these instructions:

-Detach sash from jacket; fasten one side of gauntlets together w/ velcro; fasten velcro on sash and hat wrap together; put sash, gauntlets, and hat wrap into delicates bag when washing to avoid snagging uniform with velcro

-If a stain does occur, pre-treat with non-chlorine stain remover and gently scrub

-Machine wash jacket and pants together with bag containing gauntlets, sash, and hat wrap, on cold wash/cold rinse with non-chlorine detergent

-Hang uniforms to dry OR use cool setting in dryer

-Reattach sash to jacket, fold hat wrap at the “V” on the front and lay flat with gauntlets in back upper zipper pocket, hang bibbers over pants hanger and hang jackets on separate hangers

-Store uniform in unzipped uniform bag to provide ventilation.  DO NOT PUT WET UNIFORM PIECES INTO BAG.

-DO NOT USE BLEACH PRODUCTS OR FABRIC SOFTENER; DO NOT IRON ANY PART OF THE UNIFORM; DO NOT WASH TUBA BERETS.

-Checkout/Return visor with section leaders for each wear

-Clean shoes with soap and water; black shoe polish can be used for scuffs

How to Wear Uniform:

-Under uniform: dry-fit shirt and athletic shorts purchased from boosters

-Black crew length or longer socks with no other color on them (purchased on own, always have extra pair)

-Long hair must be pulled up inside hats when marching

-No colored nail polish for competitions

RENTAL COST:

If a student forgets a part of their uniform and needs to borrow one from the uniform room, they will be charged a rental fee.

Socks will be theirs to keep; other items must be cleaned and returned the next week.

REPLACEMENT COST:

If a student loses or damages part of the uniform, replacement costs are as follows (costs subject to change at any time):
